Residential Mold In Your Home
There are few ways you can detect residential mold. The first way to detect it is to smell your home. If there are areas where you smell something that is musty, you may have a mold problem. This may be a bigger problem if there are water or sewage pipes where you notice the smell.
Another way to detect residential mold is to look at your walls and floor boards. If there are any yellow stains on the walls, there may be mold there. Black mold will show up as a yellow or yellow-green spot on the wall. Black mold is the most harmful type of mold and should be eradicated as soon as possible. Your family can get very sick with respiration problems if you do not detect it early enough.
If you do see signs of residential mold, you need to get a professional in to do a more thorough examination of your home. A professional will take samples and have them sent to the mold lab. The mold lab will check these samples to see if there is any mold present and what type of mold it is. This is the best way to see if your home has black mold or a more easy type of mold to get rid of.
If your home has been diagnosed with black mold, you should get your family out of the house as soon as possible. As previously stated, black mold is dangerous for your family. You will then want to hire a company that will get rid of your mold problem so your family can move back into the home.
If your residential mold is the less harmful type, you can clean this mold with household cleaners you already have in the home. You want to make sure the walls are completely dry when you are finished with your cleanup. This will keep the mold from coming back. You can do this by opening all windows and have fans running in the room. When the walls are completely dry, you can then move your things back into the room.
