Many people suffer from Symptoms of Mold and they do not even know it. Black mold is one of the most common and yet most toxic of all of the residential mold types. If you have been feeling sick after a particularly humid time of the year, you may want to get to the doctor and have your home checked for mold. You may have a form of black mold illness that can cause severe health problems if not diagnosed soon enough.
One symptom of mold illness caused from Black mold is getting asthma when you did not have it before. If you are having problems breathing, you should get to a doctor. If your home has shown signs of black mold, you should let your doctor know this so he can treat you accordingly. This will make his diagnosis much easier. Physicians do not usually check for problems that are associated with black mold illness unless they are told there is a possibility of black mold in the home.
This happens because the black mold in inhaled and adversely affects the lungs. If this goes untreated, the lungs can become completely full or can fail from the lack of oxygen. This is especially true for younger children and babies. The elderly will also suffer more from black mold illness as well. Their lungs are not as strong as a healthy adult or teens lungs would be. Smokers will also be more susceptible to black mold illness as they have already damaged their lungs with cigarette smoke.
If you feel you have symptom of mold illness, you should go to your family doctor right away. The sooner you begin treatments the less likely the chances of permanent damager there will be. You will also want to move out of your home immediately until the home has been completely cleansed of black mold. Do not move back into the house until it has been deemed safe for you to do so. If you rent your home, then your landlord will be responsible for the eradication of the mold. If they do not, then you will need to check your tenant landlord laws to see what steps you can take to get them to do this.
